Designing a blog that feels calm at speed

Static pages do not have to feel frozen. With the right publishing model, the shell stays fast while the important live signals stay fresh.

The fastest publishing sites usually make one mistake: they treat every piece of content as equally dynamic. In practice, most of a publication changes on an editorial cadence, not every second.

Freeze the archive, not the pulse

Use static generation for posts, indexes, feeds, and metadata. Keep only live signals dynamic: availability, inventory, queue depth, or a current editorial note. That split gives you a site that reads instantly and still reflects today.
